Vasilopita: Saint Basil's pie for New Year's Day

 

Vasilopita with dried coconut!

Here's our New Year's Vasilopita: minimal, lean (I used sunflower oil instead of butter), with a real holly tree twig to bring us good luck, and a collectible coin as "flouri".
It's a vanilla cake, just like the one shown in my previous post, dusted with dried grated coconut. I used coconut instead of icing sugar to reduce the amount of sugar intake. I fastened a white ribbon around it which makes it very pretty.
